You can import data into a new savefile as soon as Arthur gives you the tutorial on how to use the Order Symbol.You can import data from a savefile as many times as you want.You can only import data into a savefile once.The savefile you import the data from will remain unchanged.Make any powerful armor or weapons you will want in the new game, since your recipes will vanish once you import.Rebuy any cooking tools you may have destroyed.
Things I would recommend doing before you import:
Basically anything you got by using an order. If you ordered the combining of your cooking tools, that’s gone now and any tool you destroyed will have to be repurchased. Additional shops (Like the magic shop or Blossom’s furniture). Field health will reset to the default and and all temporary bonuses like +Qual and +Size will disappear. Friendship Levels with townsfolk (So yes, you get to see Dylas tsun-tsun again). Seed levels in shops (Levels will temporarily reset to 1, but will revert once you complete the “Ship a Level 2 Turnip Request”. 
Raven’s inventory will remain the same (Since it’s based on Shipping records). Inventory (Inventory in the playfile you import your stuff into WILL BE OVERWRITTEN so keep that in mind). Buy a double bed/make an engagement ring/get married. Beat the Sharance Maze on it’s lowest level. Raise all Friendship levels to 10 or higher (Excluding Venti if you haven’t beaten Act 3). Give a Pineapple juice to Margaret (You will probably recieve one as a drop before you get the recipe, so hang onto it until the request appears). Harvest an Emery Flower (This will only unlock after shipping every other crop). Harvest a gold turnip and make a Flying Turnip dish for Arthur. Harvest/Ship a level 10 AND a giant gold veggie. Harvest 50 apples, 50 grapes, and 20 oranges. Harvest/Ship a level 10 AND a giant flower. Harvest/Ship a level 10 AND a giant veggie. Some big requests you might want to get a head start on beforehand Complete all of Eliza’s requests, excluding the the ones that change daily.
